Within the month ending on 21 June 2021, the IME witnessed trade of more tham 3,623,000 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of almost 1,880 million USD, showing 22% and 8% of growth in volume and value of trades respectively.

According to a report by the IME's international affairs and PR, the IME sold on its metal and mineral trading floor 1,816,000 of commodities worth almost 1,076 million USD.

Commodities traded on this floor included 979,170 tonnes of various types of steel, 550, 280 tonnes of cement, 26,060 tonnes of copper, 690 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 129 tonnes of precious metals concentrate, 31,245 tonnes of aluminum, 165,000 tonnes of iron ore, 33,705 tonnes of zinc, 400 tonnes of metallurgical coke, 60,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 250 tonnes of lead and 13 kg of gold bars.

Furthermore, the exchange played host to trading of 1,740,000 tonnes of commodities on both domestic and export pits of its oil and petrochemical trading floor valued at more than 795 million USD.

The IME's customers purchased on this floor 492,393 tonnes of various grades of bitumen, 319,550 tonnes of polymeric products, 159,480 tonnes of chemicals, 19,834 tonnes of oil , 540,400 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 42,630 tonnes of sulfur, 450 tonnes of argon, 550 tonnes of insulation and 157,000 tonnes of lube cut.

There were also 6,316 tonnes of commodities traded on the IME's side market.
