Health Minister Saeed Namaki said that Iran will be turned into the exporter of coronavirus vaccine in the very near future.
Health Minister: Iran to Become COVID-19 Vaccine Exporter

"We will not be short of (COVID-19) vaccines in the coming months, but we will also turn into exporter of vaccines," Namaki said on Sunday, addressing a ceremony in Tehran.
In relevant remarks on Saturday, Head of Pasteur Institute of Iran Alireza Biglari said that not only Iran will be able to meet the domestic demand for the COVID-19 vaccine, but also it will become one of the chief exporters of this vaccine which is a great achievement and national pride for the Islamic Iran.
Considering the proper activities of domestic producers of COVID-19 vaccine, it is predicted that the general vaccination of COVID-19 will be carried out within the next months in the country, he added.
Biglari went on to say that Iranian-made COVID-19 vaccine will get a considerable portion of the global market and this issue is a great honor for the country.
He pointed to the production and export of other vaccines in the research center, and added, "In addition to saving life of fellow countrymen, a number of vaccines produced in the country have also saved the life of other people especially regional countries."
“BCG, Bacillus Calmette Guerin vaccine is of the vaccines produced in Pasteur Institute of Iran (PII) that millions of non-Iranians in other countries have been vaccinated against it, Biglari further said.
In relevant remarks late last month, Head of HEIKO Mohammad Mokhber said that nearly 30 million doses of COV-Iran Barekat vaccine will be produced and delivered to the health ministry.
“One million doses of the vaccine will be produced this month, 3 million doses next month, 10 to 12 million doses in July, and 13 to 15 million doses in August,” Mokhber said, adding that the vaccines would be given to the Health Ministry for vaccination.
He noted that from September, 20 million doses of the vaccine would be produced monthly.
The official pointed out that people's concerns regarding the virus would be resolved within the next 3 to 4 months.
He concluded that all Iranian vaccines had achieved the human testing phase and desirable results, but COV-Iran Barekat has had fewer side effects.
