Zarif to discuss Karabakh developments with Azeri counterpart

Noshahr, Mazandaran prov, April 5, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said he will discuss the latest developments in Karabakh with his Azeri counterpart.
He made the remarks upon arrival in the city of Ramsar in north of the country to take part in the trilateral meeting between foreign ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iran.
He expressed hope for restoration of peace and calm in the region through vigilance and wisdom of regional countries.
Pointing to a phone conversation with his Armenian counterpart earlier today, he said the conversation took place to exchange views with him on latest situation in karabakh.
He said Iran stresses using every capacity available to end conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
He went on to note that the past three sessions of the trilateral forum took place in the cityof Orumiay in Iran, Nakhichevan in Azerbaijan and Van in Turkey respectively.
He said the present meeting aimed at encouraging cooperation among three Muslim and neighboring countries.
The foreign minister said Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkey could have good cooperation in such areas as tourism, transit of goods and customs affairs.
Zarif further said that they could orchestrate efforts to fight extremism and terrorism during the meeting.
Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov arrived in Ramsar airport in west of this northern province to attend the fourth ministerial meeting between Tehran, Baku and Ankara.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had arrived in this northern city to attend the ministerial meeting.
Turkish foreign minister is due to be in Ramsar today for the Tehran-Baku-Ankara ministerial meeting.
