Tehran, April 12, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif pointed to his forthcoming trip to Russia, saying it aims at reviewing Syrian developments.

Zarif made the remarks on Wednesday in reply to a question on his upcoming trip.

He said that a trilateral meeting consisting of foreign ministers of Iran, Russia and Syria is scheduled to be held.

Tensions between Moscow and Washington escalated when a Syrian airfield was attacked by the US missiles under the pretext of the use of chemical weapons allegedly by Bashar Assad’s government against its own people, a claim strongly rejected by Damascus.
