Iran condemns terrorist attack in Kabul

Tehran, Feb 8, IRNA – Iran Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Afghan capital of Kabul which resulted death of a dozen people and injury of many more.

A suicide attacker exploded himself near the offices of the Afghan Supreme Court in central Kabul during the evening rush hour on Tuesday.

“Terrorism is the most vital security issue both in the region and across the world,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Wednesday.

“With no exceptions, terrorism tends to put in its crosshairs peace and security of nations and world people,” Qasemi said, expressing sympathy with the government of Afghanistan and families of the victims.

“All the governments in the region as well as the world community are required to exploit their synergies and make an all-out effort to address terrorism,” the spokesman said.

According to the Afghan health ministry, the suicide attack has left 19 people dead and 41 more injured.
