Tehran, Feb 9, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi said on Wednesday that Iran and Europe have the potential for good cooperation and dialogue can contribute to establishing closer ties between the two sides.

Addressing members of Strategic Research Center of The Hague in the Netherlands, he explained Iran’s stances and viewpoints regarding bilateral relations, regional and international issues.

Pointing to Iran’s capacities in various fields as the world’s 17th economy, the official said that Iran is open to foreign investments.

“Iran plays a crucial role in fighting terrorism in the region and if today, signs of defeat are evident in terrorist group Daesh, Iran’s role in this respect is undeniable,” he said.

Given Iran’s huge reserves of energy, it is prepared for raising oil and gas exports to Europe, he said.
