Commemoration service held in Vienna for Iranian firefighters

Vienna, Jan 23, IRNA – The commemoration ceremony for Iranian firefighters who lost their lives in Tehran high rise collapse on January 19 was held with the attendance of Iranians residing in Austria on Sunday night in Vienna.

Staff of Iran's embassy in Vienna, Iran's representatives at the United Nations offices in Vienna, members of student associations, groups of Iranian-Armenians residing in Vienna, intellectuals, secretaries of Iranian medical society in Austria, secretaries of Iranian engineers society in Vienna and a group of artists residing in Austria participated in the event.

Austrian Fire Department in a message, sympathized with victims of the sad incident.

The number of people wounded at the Plasco Trade Center collapse on Thursday inferno has risen to 197 and 7 people were also killed.

Plasco Trade Center, the 17-storey building collapsed in downtown Tehran on January 19 while a number of firefighters were inside the building to rescue those trapped in the huge fire.

Plasco was the first high-rise building in the Iranian capital built in 1962.
