Biggest World Neurosciences Research Center under construction in Tehran

Tehran, April 24, IRNA - The biggest Neurosciences Research Center in the world is being constructed in Tehran under supervision of Professor Majid Samii, a renowned Iranian neurosurgeon.

Professor Samii's assistant Mostafa Ghaffari told IRNA on Saturday that Germany has given 60 scholarships to Iranian doctors to provide expert board of Tehran Neurosciences Research Center.

He added that the first group on scholarship are taking post-doctoral courses and will work at Imam Khomeini Hospital until the center gets ready and the second group will be dispatched to Germany by September 2016.

Referring to the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) Symposium, he said that such conferences are very important since well-known experts participate and there are opportunities for the experts to be acquainted with the latest treatment methods.

The 5th Symposium of World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies, which was organized in cooperation with Tehran University of Medical Sciences, the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS) and Brain and Spinal Injury Repair Research Center, was held on April 17-22 in Espinas Palace Hotel in Tehran.

World Neurosciences Research Center, which is 80,000 sqm, is being constructed in 11 floors. It is twice bigger in size than International Neuroscience Institute (INI) Center in Hanover.
