The Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunication Company (IOPTC) launched a geographic information system (GIS) application for pipelines carrying crude oil and petroleum products in Iran.

The system, adopted by an Iranian knowledge-based company, was unveiled on Monday parallel with the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution and in a ceremony held in the presence of the IOPTC CEO, Abbasali Jafarinasab.

“The project is more comprehensive with high speeds and accessibility than similar systems, and has become a model for other organizations, which is expected to pore further in the future by completing and expanding applications,” said the CEO during the ceremony.

The project began three years ago and has a data bank of all the oil pipelines in the country and their specifications.
