Decrease in oil dependency most important point of budget bill: MP

A member of the Iranian parliament has said the decline in oil dependency is one of the most important strengths of the next Iranian year's budget bill (will start on March 21, 2019).

pointing out that Iran was involved in a tough economic war, Hussein Amiri Khamekani said on Friday that indeed, this economic war shows itself more in the late current or next Iranian years and on this basis 'we need to adjust the budget' so that the minimum damage will occur in running the country. 'This is a demand that we have been emphasizing for many years to manage the country without oil or with the least dependence on oil, and to spend oil on infrastructure development, because it itself generates non-oil revenues for the government.” Amiri Khamekani added, 'We have been trapped in a chain in the way that what amount of money we spend in the current management of the country, we are faring away from development and non-oil revenues.'
