Sanctions not impacting Iran’s trade: Official

Iran’s economic and trade relations with the neighbors are so interconnected that the enemies’ sanction cannot affect them, said Director General of Trade Development Organization’s Office for Regional and International Organizations.

Mirhadi Seyyedi told IRNA late Wednesday that on the contrary, the sanctions have reinforced the country’s production and exports capabilities.

Referring to 13.3 percent rise in exports over the past eight months compared to the figure for the corresponding period last year, he added that this means that the enemies failed to achieve their objectives, as the trade balance is positive.

Over the past 40 years, Iran’s non-oil exports have risen 100-fold, he said.

He further noted that some two billion dollars have been earmarked from Sovereign Wealth Fund for supporting exports sector.
