Swiss president to visit Iran soon

Tehran, Feb 22, IRNA – President of Swiss Confederation Johann Schneider-Ammann is to visit Iran on Feb 26-28.

According to Switzerland’s RTS TV network, the president is going to be accompanied by 40 Swiss investors and entrepreneurs during the visit which aims promoting Tehran-Bern relations after the removal of sanctions on Iran.

According to RTS, a larger number of swiss businessmen were keen to visit Iran but they failed to do so because of the size of the delegation.

Former Swiss Ambassador to Tehran and head of Iran-Switzerland chamber of commerce Phillip Volti said what matters most is the level of the delegations given the fact that revival of old ties between the two countries should happen in ranking industrial and political levels.

He believed the visit is taking place in the most appropriate time.

Agosti used to serve as the first European ambassador to Iran and after her diplomatic tenure is still trying on consolidation of bilateral ties between the two countries.
