PVC Stabilizer LX-368N

Stabilizers are chemical additives commonly added to polymeric materials, such as PVC to prevent their degradation. LX-368N is the mixture of Cd-Ba-Zn metal soaps, phosphite and solvent. It is a brown clear liquid stabilizer which provides good initial color and good transparency along with good long-term heat stability and self -lubricating effect. It is applied in the manufacture of flexible and semi-rigid PVC by calender or extrusion process.

PVC Stabilizer is a pale, yellow, transparent liquid that is soluble in Acetone and Benzene but not in water.

Stabilizers are important ingredients of PVC formulation. Stabilizers are added to PVC to allow its stable processing, ensure its thermal stability and to improve its resistance especially in outdoor applications, weathering and heat ageing and have an important influence on the physical properties of PVC finished articles.

It’s the most effective heat stabilizer of the processing of PVC plastic. Because of the high safety factor and good transparency, PVC Stabilizer is especially suitable for food wrap and rigid PVC products with high transparency, as well as for transparent film or bottles, PVC pipes and steel-plastic composite doors or windows. PVC Stabilizer works as a catalyst for synthesizing PU foamed plastics, silicone rubbers, etc.

PVC Stabilizers prevent degradation during extrusion and injection, protect PVC sections from deformation, discoloration or yellowing under the effect of UV and facilitate the shaping of the PVC.

PVC Stabilizers Types:

Calcium-based Stabilizers (including Ca-Zn ones):

Calcium-based Stabilizers are now largely used in wires and cables, in window and technical profiles (also foamed ones), and in any type of pipes, as well as the corresponding fittings.

Liquid Stabilizer:

The liquid mixed metal stabilizers are used in several PVC flexible applications like: calendered films; extruded profiles; injection molded, soles, footwear; extruded hoses and plastisols (flooring, wall covering, artificial leather, coated fabrics, toys).

Tin Stabilizer:

The largest use for tin compounds is in the stabilization of PVC.

Lead Stabilizer:

Lead-based compounds have been used to stabilize rigid PVC for the construction industry use (e.g. pipes, fittings and profiles applications) and in flexible PVC, mainly for wires and cables.

Cadmium Stabilizer:

Cadmium was used in form of a Stearate or Laurate for stabilizing PVC and was combined with Barium Ester or Lead stabilizer. Cadmium stabilizers offered excellent heat stability and weatherability to PVC compounds. There were mainly used in semi-rigid and flexible foil for products such as roofing membranes and in rigid applications for outdoor use such as window profiles.

Storage:

Store PVC Stabilizers in a cool, dry and ventilated place, keep the container sealed. Keep PVC Stabilizers away from fire, heat and direct sunlight. Separately store with oxidant or food chemicals. PVC Stabilizers storage period is 18 months.

Prevent entry of PVC Stabilizers into the mouth or eyes. If splashed on the skin, PVC Stabilizers should be washed with soap timely. Prevent the inhalation of steam and smoke of PVC Stabilizers.
